I paid the $35.00 for the company to send someone out to do the measurements and get a final estimate together. Everything was great until the "salesperson" from Marks Flooring came out. This "person" came in with another individual, jumped in the center of my floor and said this is horribly soft. Then looked at the floor and called the other person over and said "I have never seen particle board sub floor before." I looked at him and said you are looking at the junk laminate I want replaced and that the sub floor was plywood. It is only 10 years old. HE then told me the floor was so unlevel that it has to be leveled before they could do any work. Then they left. I get a call from Lowes to go over the estimate. I asked for it to be emailed to me. I then emailed back and asked if there were any notes from this "contractor" they sent out and explained the comments that were made. I get a call back from Wayne the flooring manager and he explained that yes they had notes and told me to find a contractor that could do the floor leveling. Well in the meantime I have had 4 other flooring companies look at and they all had no issues with the floor, nothing soft, it is level and since then the floor has been replaced and NOT by Lowe's and their contractors. I am amazed by the complete lack of knowledge from a contractor they use. So I guess my lesson is I lost $35.00 and a lot of time. Just curious how many others have had the same issues? Comment by other contractor's " that is a normal tactic". Makes you wonder. <p>I was fully expecting to use Lowe&#39;s installation services for new flooring.
